What happens if I lose access to my Google account?
You can still access your Chimi wallet as long as you have your exported backup key. Your Google login is used for convenience through Privy, but your exported key gives you direct control over your account. If you lose Google access but still have your backup key, you can recover your wallet using any compatible wallet app.
What happens if the Chimi website goes offline?
You still own your funds. If you have your exported key, you can import it into any normal wallet and interact directly with the Yearn V3 contracts. Your wallet exists on chain, not on our website, so your access does not depend on the Chimi frontend.
Do I need Google login to access my funds?
No. Google login is one way to authenticate, but your exported key is your ultimate recovery method. If you import that key into MetaMask or another wallet, you can manage your funds without using Google or Privy.
What should I do to keep my account safe?
Protect your Google account with strong MFA, secure your devices, and store your exported key in a safe offline location. Never save your backup key in cloud storage or messaging apps. Treat it like the key to your bank vault.
If my phone or laptop is stolen, can someone access my Chimi wallet?
Only if they can authenticate into your Google account or access your exported key. Make sure your devices are locked with a strong PIN or password and that your Google account has hardware key MFA enabled.
What happens if I lose my exported key?
If you lose your exported key, you can still access your Chimi account through Privy using your Google login. However, you will not be able to recover your account if both the Google login and the exported key are lost. We strongly recommend storing the exported key safely offline.
Can someone steal my funds by sniffing my wifi?
No. All communication with Chimi and Privy happens over encrypted HTTPS. However, insecure or compromised devices can still be attacked, so avoid using public or untrusted wifi for sensitive actions.
Can I use any wallet to access my Chimi account?
If you imported your exported private key, yes. Your Chimi wallet address will work in any wallet that supports standard private key imports. You can use this to interact directly with the underlying Yearn contracts.
What if I fall for a phishing scam?
Phishing is one of the biggest risks. Always double check the URL before logging into Chimi. Never enter your backup key anywhere except your trusted wallet app. Bookmark our official site and avoid clicking links from unknown sources.
Does Chimi control my wallet or keys?
No. You are the owner. We do not hold your keys and we cannot move your funds. Privy helps with authentication, but your exported key gives you full independent control.
